This module will provide the student with the basic tools of structural analysis including the structure idealization, analysis of the thin-walled cellular type of structure peculiar to the aircraft, tapered multi-cell box beam, numerical simulation of composite structures and design, fundamentals of elasticity and buckling analysis of plate and case studies of aircraft component manufacturing with numerical modelling.
