This module challenges students to develop their understanding on the meaning of sustainability in the context of materials. It encourages students to take a holistic view considering challenges in environmental, ecological, health and energy issues related to production and processes as well as emergent opportunities from cradle to grave. The module prepares students for devising innovative and sustainable solutions, technologies and mitigation in materials sourcing, transportation and product end of life. The module includes some case studies.
