This module starts with the origins of money and trade, examining speculative bubbles, recessions and depressions, international trade, corporate organization and the impact of technology on businesses and markets.

The module looks at a history of financial fraud, the regulations put in place to prevent fraud, how financial innovation and regulation have kept up with each other and how regulation has led to the rise of private markets, alternative investments and fintech.
