This module is an academic module focussing primarily on the introduction to the basic and clinical sciences of the dental hard and soft tissues and the biochemical processes processes relevant of Oral Biology. It will be conducted in the form of 12 seminars of 3 hour duration, and 6 research seminars. The major topics include:
Tooth development and mechanisms driving formation
Structure of enamel
Structure of dentine
Structure of bone
Structure of the periodontal ligament
Dental anomalies
