Biomolecules of Life

Module code: BMD123

Credits: 15.0
Semester: SEM2

Contact: Dr Andrew Durham

Biochemistry is the study of the chemistry that underpins life processes. These processes include the interplay of large and small molecules that are common to all life on earth. In this module you will learn about the structure and function of the key biomolecules of life such as amino acids, proteins, sugars, lipids, and membrane structures.
You will also examine the role of these biomolecules in the generation, utilisation, regulation, and storage of metabolic energy.
