Module code: BIO367
Credits: 15.0
Semester: SEM2
Contact: Dr Vidya Darbari
Prerequisite: Before taking this module you must take BIO269
In this module you are going to learn about the structure-function relationship of various molecular machines involved in crucial life processes. This module will cover the processes of DNA packing, transcription, translation, protein folding and protein degradation including the structure and function of the macromolecular complexes that are involved in these processes. In the second part, this module will cover the structure and function of important macromolecular assemblies such as motor proteins, the fatty acid synthase and protein export machineries across bacterial membrane as well as the structure of viruses.
