Credits: 15.0
Semester: SEM2

Prerequisite: Before taking this module you must take BIO227 or take SNU213
This module explores human hereditary disease in terms of genetics, pathogenesis, clinical features and clinical management. Although examples of Mendelian and complex conditions will be discussed, we will also look at further mechanisms of disease development (for example uniparental disomy and mitochondrial disorders) and the role of genetics in drug efficacy. Students will extend their knowledge and understanding of genomic technologies and the techniques used to identify genetic loci associated with human disease.
