Accessible Study Pod

Located on the first floor, the pod provides a dedicated and more private study space designed to support students with accessibility needs. It has been designed with flexibility and comfort in mind, allowing students to adjust the space to suit their individual needs.

Features include:

  • Adjustable-height desk – allowing users to set their workspace at a comfortable height.
  • Adjustable lighting – giving users greater control over the lighting within the pod.
  • Built-in fan – allowing users to adjust airflow and help maintain a comfortable temperature.
  • Private study environment – providing an alternative to traditional open-plan study spaces.

The pod is available to students who have been granted study carrel authorisation by the Disability & Dyslexia Service, and can be booked through LibCal. Bookings are restricted to eligible students.

Whether you need a quieter space to focus, greater flexibility in how you set up your workspace, or a more accessible study environment, we hope the new pod will be a useful addition to the Library.

How to book

Eligible students can book the pod through the Library’s LibCal booking system.

If you have any questions about the pod or accessibility support available in our Libraries, please get in touch with the Library team.
