Just in time for Green Libraries Week, new bike racks are now available at Whitechapel Library, off Stepney Way, providing staff and students with more opportunities to make sustainable travel choices.

By making it easier for people to park their bikes securely while they study, work or access library services, this small but positive change supports a greener approach to everyday journeys.

The new bike racks at Whitechapel Library are a great example of how practical improvements can make a difference. Encouraging more people to consider cycling, walking or using public transport can help reduce reliance on car journeys and contribute to cleaner air, lower carbon emissions and healthier communities.

Whether cycling to study, work or visit the library, staff and students can now take advantage of the new bike racks and make active travel part of their routine.

It is a positive step towards a more sustainable library environment — and a great way to celebrate Green Libraries Week!
