Get Ahead at Queen Mary
Monday 14 September | 1:00pm - 4:00pm | The Octagon, Mile End Campus
Start your Queen Mary journey with confidence at this interactive drop-in event for new students. You'll have the chance to connect with other Queen Mary students, pick up practical tips, and discover the support available to help you succeed in your first semester and beyond. Visit the themed activity zones at your own pace and complete the Get Ahead Bingo Challenge for your chance to win a prize. Free refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon, giving you even more opportunities to relax, chat, and meet fellow students.

Academic & Study Skills Workshops
Our workshops are designed to help you develop the skills you’ll need to succeed at university. 
The Academic Skills Centre offers workshops throughout the year to support you as you continue your transition. Workshop topics include:
- Getting started and getting organised
- Understanding plagiarism and academic integrity
- Studying at university
- Developing your research and information skills for university
- Understanding maths and statistics at university
- Getting support with reading, writing and statistics
