Monpura (2009) is a poignant romantic drama set on a remote island. After being falsely accused of murder to protect a wealthy family's troubled son, Shonai is exiled to Monpura. There, he falls in love with Pori, a fisherman's daughter. Powerful forces conspire to keep them apart. The lovers face a series of heartbreaking misunderstandings that end in tragedy.
