Dr Remy Gerbay spoke at a Paris Arbitration Week Event
On 8 April 2025, Dr. Remy Gerbay took part in a panel offering first insights into some of the preliminary finding of the 14th empirical study of the School of International Arbitration (SIA) at Queen Mary University of London. This is the sixth Survey in partnership with law firm White & Case (W&C). The 2025 International Arbitration Survey is entitled: ‘The Path Forward: Realities and Opportunities in Arbitration’.

In a packed room of over 200 attendees, Dr Gerbay highlighted the Arbitration Survey’s global appeal with more than 2,400 respondents. The panel was moderated by Clare Connellan of W&C. In addition to Dr. Gerbay, the speakers (in alphabetical order) were Alexander Fessas (International Chamber of Commerce), Charles Nairac and Aditya Singh, both partners at W&C.
Dr. Gerbay commented that: “This year there were over 2,400 responses worldwide which is more than we have ever had, almost doubling the number of respondents compared to that in 2021. Interestingly, the increase in respondents is across all regions, so [the sample] maintains its [geographical] spread,” with “47% from Asia-Pacific, 21% from Europe, 10% from North America, 9% from the Middle East, 7% from Latin America and the Caribbean, and 6% from Africa.”
The full Survey report will be published in the coming months. For some coverage of the event see here.
