TELT Show and Share Webinars 2025
Wow, that's a wrap on our Show and Share webinar series for the 2024-2025 academic year!

Over the past few weeks, we had 7 Show and Share sessions and we heard from 15 inspiring presenters (including 1 student) from across our university who gave us a peek into the fantastic work they’re doing, with the help of our centrally supported technologies. Each presenter offered an honest insight into their real-life and thoughtful practices.
Our presenters shared not only their successes but also the challenges they’ve encountered and the valuable lessons learned along the way. They gave helpful tips and best practices that they have developed to enhance the teaching and learning at QMUL.
What stood out for me?
So much stood out - it was great to hear about the work happening across the University, but a few of my highlights...
- The creativity - there were some creative ways to use the technology. I enjoyed the presentation on using Padlet to get students to post their ideas to the online message board, especially the language course idea where students set up a Padlet Tinder Profile, in another language, for El Sr Armonia, to showcase their language learning.
- The openness and honesty - it was encouraging to learn about the presenters' journeys from novice to 'street-wise'.
- The willingness to share both wins and hurdles (and offer some tips from lessons learned!)
- The tenacity to try new things, despite lack of confidence with using the technology. Many of our presenters battled through and learned as they went.
- Involving students to overcome key challenges (especially seen in the QMplus Quizzes session). A great reminder that our students are not just learners, but powerful partners in progress.
- Seeing the different perspectives and engaging in thought provoking discussions (especially around Mentimeter as a safe space, and the challenges around using QMplus quizzes while maintaining Academic Integrity).
- Learning how to boost student engagement both online and in the classroom (seen by using the QMplus Level plugin) and being able to support students who you can easily see are falling behind.
A huge thank you to our 'Show and Share' presenters: Olumide Popoola, Jayne Dennis, Imran Islam, Paula Fonseca, Edmond Robinson, Susan Smith, Faith Nightingale, Joanna Riddoch-Contreras, Paloma Luna, Giuditta Trinci, Asen Ivanov, Davina Ansah, Lizzie Barmes, Usman Naeem, Vindya Wijeratne... You’ve inspired fresh thinking, sparked great conversations, and reminded us how much amazing work is happening in our own community.
Thank you also to those who came along and joined the conversations, or engaged in any way — you've made this a great success and we'd like to continue these show and share webinars in the future.
