Graduate Centre

The Graduate Centre is housed between Geography Square and the Bancroft Road area on the Mile End campus. An impressive and iconic seven-storey building, it includes 7,700 square metres of learning and teaching space.

Furnished with the latest technology it provides our economics and finance students with access to banking and finance industry software used by economists in finance and government. It is also home to the Doctoral College and the Research Degrees Office, and provides study and social space specifically tailored to meet the needs and working patterns of our taught and research postgraduate students.

Facilities at the Graduate Centre include:

  • An impressive 200-seat lecture theatre and numerous seminar rooms
  • Trading and Behavioural labs with Bloomberg terminals
  • Computer labs with designated print facilities
  • Access to a full range of economic-financial data and a wide range of software packages including Stata, Scientific Workplace, ArcGISMathematica and Matlab
  • Study spaces which provide enviable views of Canary Wharf and the City. It’s the perfect environment for studying alone or working with friends while gazing across the London skyline, with an almost 360-degree field of vision.

Students can also relax and socialise in Café Grad, located on the ground floor of the campus. Café Grad offers a range of tasty cakes, sandwiches, pastries, grab and go snacks and serves Starbucks Coffee. It’s the ideal spot to stop by as you pass through the Mile End campus or if you need a place to reflect on the day while watching the world go by through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
