First-year undergraduate accommodation guarantee

We make an accommodation guarantee offer to all our first-year undergraduate and foundation students. If you meet certain criteria, we guarantee to offer you a room in a Queen Mary hall of residence, or with one of our partner providers.

*Eligibility criteria

To qualify for our first-year accommodation guarantee:

  • You must be a new, full-time registered student at Queen Mary, who has not lived in a Queen Mary residence before
  • You must firmly accept your offer to study in London and apply for accommodation by 30 June
  • You should be prepared to sign an agreement for a full academic year, at least for the period of September to June.

How to apply

All housing applications are made online. After you accept your place to study at Queen Mary, the Admissions Office will send you an email with your unique username, password and a link to the online housing application. Once you have submitted your housing application, you will receive an email confirmation from Housing Services.

If you apply for accommodation after 30 June, we have a range of private housing options or you can add your name to the waiting list for Queen Mary accommodation.

If it looks like we can’t offer you a place or if you don't want to wait, we can provide you with support and guidance on finding alternative accommodation.

We host Private Rented Advice and Guidance Clinics online and in person in September. They can provide a good opportunity to meet other late applicants who want to find a rental property. You can also speak to our team of housing advisors, who will be able to provide you with specific housing advice. Find out more.
