Events and activities

The Students’ Union runs a programme of regular activities and events. This is complemented by events from student-led Clubs and Societies.

Christmas on campus Group

The Students’ Union have set-up a Facebook group for students staying on campus halls or in London over Christmas.

The aim of the group is to help people meet others who are staying so they can make plans together over the festive period. Christmas information and activity ideas will also be shared in the group.

Information regarding a WhatsApp group for Christmas on Campus will also be released to members in the group shortly and via Students’ Union communications.

 

Societies, Volunteering, Student Voice, Sustainability, Sport, Academic Advice Service

Our Students’ Union teams will be contactable until Wednesday 20 December via the normal contact channels detailed at www.qmsu.org. The Students’ Union will then be fully closed from Thursday 21 December until Monday 01 January. Our teams will be back to support you from Tuesday 02 January 2024.

 

Students’ Union spaces – Opening Hours

The Students’ Union will operate amended opening hours across its spaces during the Christmas break – see below for further details.

  • Normal opening hours until Friday 15 December
  • Closed from Saturday 16 December until Monday 01 January
  • Re-opening Tuesday 02 January

Get Active sessions will end on Friday 15 December and re-start in early January.

  • Normal opening hours until Friday 15 December
  • Monday 18 December to Thursday 21 December: 8am to 4pm
  • Closed Friday 22 December to Monday 01 January
  • Tuesday 02 January to Sunday 21 January: Weekdays 8am to 4pm / Weekends 10am to 4pm
  • Normal opening hours from Monday 22 January: Weekdays 8am to 8pm / Weekends 10am to 4pm
  • Normal opening hours until Sunday 17 December 
  • Monday 18 to Thursday 21 December: 7am to 9pm
  • Friday 22 December: 10am to 6pm
  • Saturday 23 December until Monday 01 January: Closed
  • Tuesday 02 January to Friday 19 January: 7am to 9pm
  • Normal opening hours resume from Saturday 20 January (Mon-Fri 7am to 10pm, Weekends 10am to 6pm)
  • Normal opening hours until Friday 15 December
  • Monday 18 December: 9am to 12pm
  • Closed from Tuesday 19 December until Monday 01 January
  • Re-open from Tuesday 02 January to Friday 12 January: 9am to 5pm
  • Normal opening hours resume from Monday 15 January (9am to 9pm)
  • Normal opening hours until Thursday 21 December (8am to 10pm)
  • Closed from Friday 22 December until Monday 01 January
  • The Recovery Rooms and Multi-Faith Centre will re-open with normal opening hours from Tuesday 02 January (8am to 10pm)
  • The Old Library will re-open on Monday 15 January due to construction works taking place as part of the Garrod Building refurbishment project
  • Closing down on Friday 15 December
  • The brand-new Griff will open in the Garrod Building in early January
  • Normal hours until Friday 15 December
  • Closed Saturday 16 December until Sunday 07 January
  • Monday 08 January to Friday 19 January: 8am to 6pm
  • Normal opening hours from Monday 22 January (8am to 7pm)
  • Normal open hours until Friday 15 December

  • Monday 18 to Wednesday 20 December: 9am to 4pm
  • Closed Thursday 21 December to Monday 01 January
