Residential Services

Housing Services will close on Wednesday 21 December 2022 and re-open on Tuesday 3 January 2023.

The Residences Reception will be open 24/7 during the closure period and managers from the Residential Services Department are on call throughout.

The Residential Life team have organised a variety of fully staffed, in person events after the end of term and throughout the festive period. For more information about what is on offer, visit the Residential Services Website.

On Thursday 29 December, Aspire Point residents who have remained in the hall of residence over the closure period are invited to a games night in their study room. The evening will be hosted by Residential Assistants and refreshments will be provided free of charge.

On Tuesday 20 December, residents who are on campus after the end of term are invited to celebrate the holiday season together with the Residential Life team at Mucci’s.  Food, drink and holiday-themed games, gifts and music will be offered.

Residents are invited to travel from the main Mile End campus or their hall of residence together in a group led by a Residential Assistant to Genesis Cinema to see Avatar: The Way of Water free of charge on Tuesday 20 December, and I Wanna Dance with Somebody on Monday 2 January.

On Friday 23 December, residents who pre-registered their participation in a Secret Santa can come together to exchange gifts. The activity will be facilitated in person by the Residential Assistants.

On Tuesday 27 December, Sherren House residents who have remained in the hall of residence over the closure period are invited to a games night in their common room. The evening will be hosted by Residential Assistants and refreshments will be provided free of charge.

The Curve is open until 13:30 on 21 December, other Queen Mary operated units will close at 16:00 on Tuesday 20 December and will re-open on Tuesday 3 January 2023.

The World Cup Final will be shown in the Aspire Point Cinema Room and at Mucci’s on the Mile End Campus, Sunday 18 December. Free refreshments provided for residents who attend with their Residents’ Rewards Card.

The Zero Waste Shop will be closed from Saturday 17 December to Monday 2 January 2023 reopening on Tuesday 3 January 2023.
