She holds a PhD in management from Aarhus University, and a double master’s degree in public management and social development from Copenhagen Business School and University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Before joining QMUL, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen. Ting’s research investigates public management, leadership, diversity, and organisational behavior. In one line of research, she focuses on strategic leadership in public organizations. Specifically, she reviews research on top managers in public organizations, and examines the effect of executive succession and the causes of top management team diversity. In the second line of research, she explores the consequences of representative bureaucracy and gender diversity on social outcomes from three perspectives, including the government, citizens, and their relations. She serves as a referee for top journals and conferences in the field of public administration and management, including Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, Public Administration Review, Public Administration, International Public Management Journal, Review of Public Personnel Administration, International Journal of Public Administration, Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management. She received the Best Reviewer Award from the Academy of Management Annual Meeting, PNP Division. She co-organized different workshops with Anders Villadsen at Sino-Danish Center, including workshops on leadership in public management, using ASReview for systematic literature reviews. She was a member of the Organizing Committee for the 8th e-HRM International Conference.
