MSc Management (January 2025)

Starting your MSc Management journey this January - we’re excited to support you every step of the way

  • Semester B:
    • Begins 22 January 2025 and ends 15 April 2025
    • Modules delivered over 11 weeks in a traditional teaching format.
  • Semester C:
    • Begins week commencing 09 June 2025 and ends Friday 01 August 2025
    • Teaching is condensed into 2-week blocks for each module., spread over 10 days.
  • Dissertation:
    • Introduction Lecture plus 5x2 hour group meetings – Submission date December 2025.
  • Contemporary Live Project:
    • Update Due soon
  • For Postgraduate (PG) students:
    • Teaching sessions will be delivered in 3-hour blocks or split into 2+1 sessions (2-hour lecture + 1-hour seminar).
    • Modules have 3 hours of teaching per week.
  • Attendance for all teaching is required on campus.

Timetables will be available to view during welcome week if not before, the 2nd semester timetable will follow.

    Semester 2 (Jan Intake Semester 1)

    • 22 January - 15 April 2025
    • Bank holidays: 18 and 21 April 2025

    Semester 3 - Examination period for Semester 2 (Jan Sem 1)  

    • Study period: 6 May - 7 May 2025
    • Examinations: 8 May - 6 June 2025
    • Bank holidays: 5 and 26 May 2025

    Semester 3 (Jan Intake Semester 2 block teaching)

    • 09 June – 01 August 2025

    Late Summer Resit Period + January Intake Exams

    • 4 August - 15 August 2025

    Dissertation

    • Lecture to be scheduled in September
    • Meetings TBC
    • Dissertation deadline Mid December  

    Semester 1 - Examination Period

    • Study period: 5 January - 7 January 2026
    • Examinations + Jan Intake Resits : 8 January - 23 January 2026

Structure

  • 7 compulsory modules

Choose one elective module (On arrival students will be required to make their elective selections in MySIS making sure they have 180 credits in total.)

  • Option of either a Dissertation or Contemporary Live Management Project (Elective)

 Compulsory Modules

  • Semester B: Includes a set of compulsory modules that all students must complete.
  • Semester C: Features three compulsory modules alongside one elective option plus an option for 60 credit Dissertation or Live Management project

  • Options: this depends on which 60 credit module you take:

BUSM100 Dissertation (core)

  • BUSM175 Corporate Social Responsibility and Business Ethics

BUSM250 The Contemporary Live Management Project

  • BUSM175 Corporate Social Responsibility and Business Ethics (pre-requisite for BUSM250)
