Talking about global and public health

Hear our academic discuss their research into the interaction of foreign policy and health in Brazil or listen to our alumni discuss mental health, the importance of conversation and asking for help, especially during the pandemic and beyond.

How does foreign policy interact with health?

Maria Berta Ecija, Lecturer in Global Public Health, discusses her research on soft and hard power in Brazil foreign affairs. This included conducting field work in Mozambique to explore the role of Brazil in establishing a factory for antiretroviral drugs.

Talking about Mental Health

Alumni Angles Podcast (blue graphic background)The inaugural episode of our Queen Mary Alumni Angles Podcast, titled ‘Let’s get talking about our mental health’, was recorded during Mental Health Awareness Week and features Dr Nick Prior (Medicine MBBS, 2017), NHS Psychiatrist and Co-Founder of Minderful, and Ellie McGrath (Public Mental Health MSc, 2020), mental health advocate and host of the Practice Makes Progress podcast.
