Study in a historic world city

Queen Mary is at the heart of London’s vibrant East End, so you’ll be based just a short tube journey away from key historical locations; from museums and heritage sites to important archives and libraries such as Senate House, the Institute of Historical Research (IHR) and the National Archives, London has much to offer you.

This means our MA History students mastering the field will have good access to archives and the primary resources they need to succeed in a research-intensive MA.

You can also take advantage of the many internship opportunities that the city provides through our MA History Internship module.

As an MA History of Political Thought and Intellectual History student, you can gather, meet and share ideas at regular IHR seminars in London and enjoy the same ease of access to primary resources for MA level research. Taught both across Queen Mary and UCL, our London location is what allows this MA programme to be a truly intercollegiate one.
