Queen Mary is pleased to provide a series of webinars and student panels to support you with your journey to higher education  

Registrations for our new webinars is now open! Here's what we've got coming up in 2024...

Our online series of webinars and student panel events aims to support you through the different stages of the application process 

Each session will provide you with information and practical tips to guide you through your journey to higher education. You will get the chance to hear from current Queen Mary students who have been through it all before.

Parents and Carers you will notice specific sessions to help you support your young person throughout their journey to higher education but please feel free to also register for sessions aimed at students.

Below is a list of upcoming webinars and student panels. Feel free to book onto multiple sessions via the registration link listed in the description.

Teachers and advisers are very welcome to attend but are unable to book on behalf of a student or group of students.

Study Skills at university 

Wednesday 3 April 2024, 4.30 - 5.30pm (BST)

This webinar will help you to understand the differences between learning at school and university and consider the essential skills required to be successful in higher education. This sessions will provide you with the skills and resources to help you become an effective independent learner which you can adopt in your current and future studies.

You will learn about:
  • How learning is different at university compared to school, college and sixth form.​
  • Discover different teaching methods at university
  • Learn how you can develop specific skills to support your learning
  • Learn how to manage your time and organise your work
  • Learn about your own skills and how you learn best​

We will joined by current Queen Mary students who will share their experiences of academic study and share tips and advice and answer any of your questions. 

This session is at year 12 and 13 students.
