From Monday 7 September to Wednesday 9 September 2026, the Centre for Commercial Law Studies at Queen Mary University of London was delighted to welcome the Tax Research Network Annual Conference to London.

From busy parallel sessions and lively discussions to keynote presentations, panel conversations and opportunities to connect over coffee and receptions, TRN26 brought together tax researchers, educators and practitioners from across the UK and internationally for three days of knowledge exchange and collaboration.

The programme explored a wide range of contemporary issues in tax, including international taxation, tax administration, digitalisation, tax fairness, sustainability and tax governance, alongside dedicated discussions on the future of tax education and the impact of AI on teaching and learning.

Highlights included a keynote address from Philip Baker KC on human rights and taxpayer rights, a panel exploring Tax and Sustainability, and a final day focused on graduate skills and innovative approaches to tax education.

It was fantastic to see the CCLS spaces filled with researchers and academics sharing ideas, challenging perspectives and building connections across jurisdictions and disciplines.

A huge thank you to the Tax Research Network, all of the speakers, chairs, panellists, delegates, sponsors and everyone who helped make TRN26 London such a success.

It was a pleasure to welcome you to CCLS!
