Academic perspective: real-world research project
'Exhibiting the First World War' was an undergraduate module that asked students to research little-seen records that tell the story of London servicemen and their families during the Great War.
It lead to a research project that helped students understand the context and progression of the war. But equally, students honed their communication skills as they interacted with the public and presented their findings to people who live in the areas the records came from. Dr Dan Todman led the module and talks here about the experience.
