Media relations
The Communications team helps build and maintain the reputation of Queen Mary - communicating its achievements and values to the outside world through a variety of channels, including national and international press and social media.
We work to support academics on news releases, articles opinion pieces, blogs, and letters to media outlets about our research, policies and people. These communications help to engage our many audiences, and secure media coverage.
The Media Relations team, the Faculty Communications teams, International Communications Manager and Social Media team also work alongside hub and spoke communications colleagues in other departments such as Strategy and Queen Mary Innovation. Use our communications toolkit here.
We can help offer professional support for:
- Drafting and pitching news releases, articles, opinion pieces, blogs, comment and letters
- Media training for spokespeople
- Crisis communications, working with Corporate Communications
- Media relations advice
- Social media advice and training
- Media filming requests (for internal filming/ DIY filming requests, go to Brand team, Video and photography toolkit)
