Become a Student Ambassador

We're looking to recruit enthusiastic students with a passion for the School of Geography and Queen Mary University of London.

Student Ambassadors represent the School of Geography by:

  • Acting as Ambassadors for the University and the School
  • Providing positive role models to those thinking of studying at university
  • Supporting the smooth running of University activities, events and initiatives

By becoming a Student Ambassador with us, your thoughts and experiences will help us to shape and enhance the experience of future students for the School and the University.

As a Student Ambassador, you can expect to undertake roles such as:

  • Supporting at events (such as open day and post-offer conversion Festivals of Geography)
  • Conducting social media takeovers
  • Developing digital and physical school content
  • Participating in offer holder call campaigns
  • Undertaking campus tours, school visits/talks
  • Championing new programmes and activities for the School/University
  • Other general events and recruitment initiatives.

About you

We should like this team to reflect the gender balance and the rich cultural diversity in the School of Geography. We would like to have students undertaking undergraduate or postgraduate studies from all year groups and across all our programmes. To be considered for the role, you must be:

  • A current student within the School of Geography at Queen Mary
  • Able to communicate their enthusiasm for geography and / or environmental science
  • A versatile team player who can take initiative
  • A great people person
  • Flexible and willing to travel
  • Enthusiastic and an active participant
  • Confident writing and speaking in English
  • Reliable, committed and efficient, with excellent time management skills
  • Happy to share your experiences in an engaging and honest way
  • Able to speak to a range of different audiences, both in person and online, or keen to develop their skills in this area
  • Keen to gain experience that adds value to their CV.
