FASS has opted to address the processes that were modelled by the Student Process Improvement Programme (SPIP).

Systems impacted by FASS initiatives

The systems within the scope of FASS include both centrally-managed and locally-managed systems. FASS has dubbed the below systems the Student Systems Ecosystem – i.e. the collection of systems that link together to underpin the processes outlined above. 

  • Central Student Admin Systems
    • SITS
    • MySIS
    • SID
    • Springboard
    • Scientia
    • CoTutor
  • Central Integration with Local Student Admin Systems
    • SEMS intranet
    • eClio
    • Local SMD systems – e.g. placement mgmt., MAST, BOS
    • Ad hoc – local Access and Excel “systems”

Systems that are out of scope include:

  • Teaching & Learning Systems, such as QMPlus
  • Library Systems
  • QEngage and other PowerBI dashboards
  • Salesforce CRM
  • Student Mobile App
  • Worktribe 

Current priorities

Since summer 2021, FASS has identified a wide range of possible initiatives, and has prioritised the following items which have moved into development:

  • Admissions process improvements
  • Extenuating circumstances process improvements
  • Upgrade of SID to v9.2 

Other initiatives that have been prioritised for development next are:

  • Change of Circumstances
  • PGR Stipend Payments

Some of these items are essential maintenance work required to keep our systems running smoothly.
