IHSS Advanced Grant Writing Workshop (internal)

When: Thursday, March 6, 2025, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Where: Queen Mary University of London, Mile End Road, London, E1 4NS

An internal workshop for Queen Mary academics: IHSS Fellows, Centre on Labour, Sustainability and Global Production (CLaSP) members, IHSS Large Grant seed-corn funding scheme awardees and those interested in collaboration with IHSS and CLaSP

Dr Ben Neimark, IHSS Fellow in the School of Business Management (SBM), will run an advanced grant all-day writing workshop. The focus will be on those writing grants over £50k, which are interdisciplinary  (broadly defined) and are at an advanced stage (draft in hand, and funder/scheme identified).

This is a great opportunity for those who need the space and time to get your proposal into shape.

Peer-reviewing other people’s proposals is one of the best ways to strengthen your own skills while providing much-needed ‘fresh-eyes’ on your colleagues' work.

The workshop will consist of two essential parts:

1) peer-review, and

2) a full-day writing retreat.

Spaces will be limited. IHSS Fellows, CLaSP members, and IHSS seed-corn grant winners will get first preference. But we will certainly make some space available to join for others associated with IHSS/CLaSP, or those who may be interested in becoming associated.

Please send an email of interest to the organiser at b.neimark@qmul.ac.uk with the title of your proposal and the potential funding scheme identified by Monday, 20 January 2025.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

The workshop is co-sponsored by the Centre on Labour, Sustainability and Global Production (CLaSP) and the School of Business Management (SBM); supported by the Queen Mary Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (IHSS).
