Shadwell Opera presents a double-bill of Schoenberg’s ERWARTUNG and Mark Anthony Turnage's TWICE THROUGH THE HEART.
Separated by ninety years, each monodrama charts the blistering psychological journey of an isolated woman. Both are set to words written by a female librettist: Marie Pappenheim and Jackie Kay.
Directed by Shadwell Opera’s Artistic Director Jack Furness and Associate Director Celine Lowenthal, and conducted by Musical Director Finnegan Downie Dear, this programme will feature the exciting operatic talents Madeleine Pierard and Kate Howden.
