Igor Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale is a witty and sardonic Faustian tale of a hapless soldier who meets the devil and
foolishly exchanges his fiddle in return for sweet words of untold wealth. The instrumental writing is among the most
virtuosic in all chamber music, and this brilliant new ensemble gives its debut performance.
Stravinsky’s great work becomes the inspiration for new ‘tales’ devised by QMUL drama students in collaboration
with QMUL Music Scholars which precede Stravinsky’s masterwork
