50 Shades of Pathology w/ BArt Macabre

3 November 2015

Time: 6:00 - 8:30pm
Venue: Barts Pathology Museum, St Barts Hospital, West Smithfield, London, EC1A 7BE

As part of National Pathology Week, Art Macabre death drawing and Barts Pathology Museum have teamed up as BArt Macabre to bring you 50 Shades of Pathology: an exploration of colour in Pathology.

•Just what do colours mean in pathology and why are they important?
•Can colours indicate a cause of death?
•Why do histological slides display so many different colours?

In this evening drawing workshop you can explore these themes, facilitated by Art Macabre's Raven Rouge and Anatomical Pathology Technologist (and the museum's curator) Carla Valentine.

Sketch anatomical specimens, painted models and medical equipment while sipping on 'formaldehyde' punch and browsing the Victorian Watercolour Collection.
