WISE@QMUL present their penultimate event of the year, with a special guest speaker, QMUL Professor Fran Balkwill of Cancer Biology at Barts Cancer Institute, lead for the Centre of Cancer and Inflammation, and Director of Centre of the Cell, a ??4 million biomedical science centre for children, educational website and outreach in Whitechapel. As of January 2012 there have been over 42,000 participants in Centre of the Cell activities.
Join us to hear about Professor Fran Balkwill's career in science, as she will discuss her research and achievements to date, as well as sharing her experiences and advice for early career researchers. She will also discuss the importance of public engagement and we will join with her in celebrating the success of the activities developed at Centre of the Cell. There will be an introduction by Professor Mike Curtis (Dean for Dentistry and Director, Institute of Dentistry at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry and Deputy Vice Principal for Health at Queen Mary, University of London, Director of Centre for Public Engagement).
Prompt start at 5.30pm, with informal networking with drinks and refreshments from 6.30pm-7.30pm.
Event is free but booking is essential.
