Re-launch of the School of Economics and Finance

18 October 2010

Time: 5:30pm
Venue: The Butchers’ Hall, 87 Bartholomew Close, London, EC1A 7EB

You are warmly invited to the launch of the recently renamed School of Economics and Finance. The event will provide an opportunity to celebrate the school’s recent successes, learn more about its future plans and hear a lecture from our guest speaker Kate Barker CBE, former member of the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee.

Her lecture will explore how the turbulence of the last few years has posed a serious challenge to the UK monetary policy framework. It will also consider the situation facing the Monetary Policy Committee today. Worries over the speed of the recovery and above target inflation raise issues about whether the dynamics of inflation in the UK have changed.

The School, now in its 45th year, is already renowned for its quantitative focus on economics and finance. Under its new name, it now offers a choice of new courses and vocational modules tailored to finance in practice.
