Launch of QUEDOS (Queen Mary Centre for Enterprise and Development Opportunities in Society)

QUEDOS is a new initiative in professional development, training and enterprise at Queen Mary, University of London.

Diversity and innovation in higher education have become critical to the modern graduate and to the development of competitive and valuable professionals in the marketplace. QUEDOS is an important part of Queen Mary’s commitment to that innovation in higher education, firmly establishing invaluable links between academic research expertise and professional development.

QUEDOS brings the vast research and academic expertise at Queen Mary to provide modern and innovative programmes in professional development, education and training. This new Centre has been made possible through the generous support of the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), which has awarded Queen Mary £460k to support graduates who wish to maximise their career and development opportunities. Academic Director of QUEDOS, Professor Johanna Gibson, says "QUEDOS provides graduates and professionals with a wonderful opportunity to enhance their skills by working with people at the cutting-edge of their fields".

The new Centre will be launched by a major one day event at the RSA, 8 John Adam Street, London. The event includes the QUEDOS debates in the stunning Great Room, dynamic panel and audience discussions on current issues across the eight QUEDOS sectors, as well as a major professional and careers fair in the Benjamin Franklin Room. The fair will give participants the opportunity to speak with the QUEDOS office, as well as career advisers, industry leaders, professionals and university representatives.
