Profile

Ayşe Yılmaz is a sociologist and research assistant at the sociology department of Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul, where she also serves as the deputy director of The Center for Health, Society and Prevention Studies. Her research focuses on childhood, children's cultural practices, and education, with a PhD in the sociology of childhood from the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon. A certified Philosophy for Children (P4C) trainer, she promotes critical thinking and philosophical inquiry among children. She also volunteers as the moderator of the Istanbul City Council Child Rights Working Unit, actively advocating for children's rights in the community.
