Nicholas L. Syrett is Associate Dean in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Professor of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Kansas. He is a coeditor of Age in America: The Colonial Era to the Present (NYU) and the author of three books: The Company He Keeps: A History of White College Fraternities (North Carolina), American Child Bride: A History of Minors and Marriage in the United States (North Carolina), and An Open Secret: The Family Story of Robert and John Gregg Allerton (Chicago). His articles appear in American Studies, Genders, GLQ, the Journal of the History of Childhood and Youth, the Journal of the History of Sexuality, the Pacific Historical Review, and a number of edited collections. He is a coeditor of the Journal of the History of Sexuality and the Vice President of the Society for the History of Children and Youth.
