Profile

Professor Rao is a Teacher - Scholar in Criminal Law, Human Rights and Juvenile Justice. He is a Professor of Law and presently the Vice Chancellor of National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi) from September, 2020. Professor Rao established the ‘Centre for Child Rights’ at NLU Odisha with the help of UNICEF. He organized the Juvenile Justice Colloquium in 2018 in association with International Institute for the Rights of the Child (IDE), Sion, Switzerland. The Centre for Child Rights and Juvenile Justice, NLU Delhi is working on the implementation of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO) in association with the Supreme Court Juvenile Justice Committee (SCJJC), & UNICEF. He is also the Member of the Editorial Board of Journal ‘Children First – Journal on Children’s Lives’, Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights.
