Profile

I have a Ph.D. and M.A. in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and a Masters in International Affairs (Human Rights & South Asia) from Columbia University. I earned my BA (Political Science & Human Rights, Anthropology) from Barnard College, Columbia University. My research lies (primarily, but not exclusively) at the intersection of the politics of urban violence in childhood, gender, work, caste criminality, and everyday forms of state surveillance.
