Profile

Esmeranda Manful is an Associate Professor with the Department of Sociology and Social Work, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. Her area of expertise is in relation to the macro-level practice of social work. Her research interest primarily focuses on child and family welfare, and social protection issues. As a mixed methods researcher, her research highlights amongst others the challenges to best outcomes for at-risk children and other vulnerable groups in Ghana and suggests solutions for effective social work practice, social policy and programme implementation. In KNUST, she is currently the Head of the Department of Sociology and Social Work and the Vice-Dean of the International Programmes Office. Esmeranda holds a PhD in Social Work from Queens University Belfast and an MPA and BSc. from the University of Ghana.
