He teaches and publishes widely on issues related to international children’s rights, juvenile justice, child friendly justice, deprivation of liberty of children, violence against children and access to justice for children. He supervises PhD students from all over the world on various children’s rights topics and he has initiated the Leiden Children’s Rights Observatory, an open access, online platform for commentaries on the jurisprudence of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.
