Profile

Ilan started his career as a social worker and manager, working in several local authorities and NGOs in London. He was head of Evaluation, Practice development and Research at the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. Ilan joined the Social Policy Research Centre in January 2005. He has led over 120 research projects. He specialises in evaluation methodology and analysis, in particular evaluations using mixed methods. Ilan has particular expertise in leading large multidisciplinary teams in mixed methods evaluations and policy research. His research interests include child protection and out of home care, parenting, early childhood, disability, caring, ageing, children in communities, justice and migration.
