Professor Kathryn Hollingsworth

Kathryn Hollingsworth is a Professor of Law at Newcastle University (UK), and has held visiting positions at the University of Otago, the University of Melbourne, the University of New South Wales and Texas Tech University. Her research focuses on children’s rights especially in the context of youth justice and she has published widely in this area. She has a particular interest in the theorisation of children’s rights as well as their practical application. In addition to her youth justice work, Kathryn also has an interest in judicial approaches to children’s rights, including in judgment-writing and sentence delivery. She has acted in an advisory capacity for a number of organisations including the Youth Justice Legal Centre, Children’s Rights Alliance for England, and the Youth Justice Board.
