Profile

Rongedzayi is a Child Protection Specialist with experience in child protection programming and systems strengthening working on the African continent. He is a published researcher with the SARChl in Cities, Law and Environmental Sustainability, Faculty of Law, North-West University. His research interest is dedicated to a critical legal perspective on the interface of children’s rights and emerging issues such as urbanization (urban law), climate change law and policy. His LLD studies focus on the nexus of children's rights and inclusive cities in South Africa, in light of Sustainable Development Goal 11 and the New Urban Agenda.

He is currently serving as an independent External Expert in the Working Group on Children's Rights and Climate Change of the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (2022-2023) - African Union's organ responsible for monitoring children rights in the continent.
