Profile

Praveen Gupta is a currently a research scholar in SBM conducting research on financial risk management using derivatives under supervision of professor Sushanta Mallick and Dr Deven Bathia. His area of expertise and research include foreign exchange, interest rates, equities, financial derivatives, corporate finance, international business, emerging markets, banking, insurance and financial institutions.

Before joining academia he was an investment banker for nearly 20 years with multinational banks like HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank and Citibank, where he used to run the derivatives selling business across middle-east and south Asia. He holds a masters’ degree from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and an electrical engineering degree from Indian Institute of technology, Kanpur.
