Artificial intelligence for digital health: transition, empowering, and integration.
Yuanyuan’s Ph.D. project aims to explore how artificial intelligence can be used by health-stakeholders to improve medical service delivery efficiency. Particularly, the study is looking at factors influencing the transition from human-led healthcare service to AI-based, automated healthcare service delivery. She also investigates the empowering process and outcomes of using medical AI applications. Based on the healthcare systems in China, this project provides suggestions for the integration of AI applications into the hospitals’ operation.

Yuanyuan Lai is currently a third-year Ph.D. candidate from the Business and Management School, Queen Mary University of London. She is from China. She received her master's degree in Management from Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen, China. She received her bachelor’s degree from Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology, Xi'an, China in 2015 where she majored in Engineering Management. She is supervised by Dr Panos Panagiotopoulos and Dr Eleni Lioliou.
