Project descripion

Minqi has an interdisciplinary research interest motivated by her composite background. She is interested in using social media analysis to discover the quantitative relationships in international business, digital marketing and other related fields. Her latest project topics include the comparison of US and Chinese consumer preferences towards products of different country-of-origins, and the compliance level of US and Chinese social media users towards governments’ response to Covid-19.

Biography

Minqi Feng is a current PhD student at School of Business and Management, Queen Mary University of London. Before joining Queen Mary, Minqi obtained her MSc in Management of Information Systems and Digital Innovation at Warwick Business School. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Technology. She also has work experience at Microsoft as a Territory Channel Manager.

Research interests

Minqi is interested in using social media data to decipher the relationships amongst different variables in cultural comparison, international business, and digital marketing fields. Specifically, Minqi is interested in:

  • Consumer behaviours on social media in the US and China
  • Information and opinions spreading on social media
  • Innovative quantitative methods toward social science
  • Emerging forms of social media
