CIMA Accreditation for our BSc and MSc Accounting and Management programmes is now for life

The School of Business and Management (SBM) is proud to announce that the accreditation for its BSc and MSc Accounting and Management programmes has been approved by the Charterted Institute of Management Accounting (CIMA) to be indefinite and will not expire.

Published:

The BSc and MSc Accounting and Management programmes at SBM both offer specialised, practical and theoretical education in the areas of accounting and the management of resources. It is relevant to both corporate, public and third sector organisations.  Both of these programmes offer core modules and subject electives in which you can pursue an area of personal and professional interest to equip you with the industry knowledge and skills to become tomorrow’s business leader in this field.

The CIMA accreditation for both of these programmes provides exemptions towards accounting qualifications thus giving you a head start with the essential foundation for your future career, whether in professional accounting or general management.

Now with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) joining forces (from the beginning of 2017) to create the most influential body of professional accountants in the world, the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (‘The Association’) will enable the broader recognition of your CIMA qualification and you to be part of a larger network of CIMA qualification holders.

The School of Business and Management would like to take this opportunity to thank Professor Colin Haslam, Professor of Accounting and Finance; Dr Ishani Chandrasekara, Lecturer in Accounting; Dr Nicholas Tsitsianis, Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Ms Helen Green, Employer Engagement and Internships Coordinator for their commitment to achieve this indefinite status.
