The article published today presented a new report, by Oxfam, that indicates that 'the richest eight people on the planet have net wealth of $426 billion — equivalent to what's held by the bottom half of the world's population'.
'USA Today' interviewed Pedro Martins, professor at SBM and an expert in labour economics, on the effects of globalisation. Professor Martins emphasised the major achievements of the world economy over the last decades in moving millions of people away from poverty but also the creation of a 'superstar economy', in which the returns for being very talented can be exceptionally high.
'USA today' had a weekly circulation of over one million and an approximate daily reach of seven million readers in 2016. Together with the New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, it is one of the leading newspapers in the United States.
