Queen Mary Business School Micro-Internship Programme

Gain real-world experience, develop professional skills, and work directly with industry partners through Queen Mary Business School's Micro-Internship Programme.

Delivered on the Practera experiential learning platform, this short, intensive virtual internship enables students to work in teams on a live business challenge set by an external organisation. Over the course of the programme, students collaborate to research, analyse and develop solutions to genuine business challenges, receiving feedback from employers throughout the experience.
Students typically commit around 25-50 hours over two to four weeks, working remotely alongside peers while developing skills in project management, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, research and professional consultancy. Projects span a range of areas including marketing, sustainability, growth strategy, AI, innovation, data analytics and social impact.

The programme offers students:

  • Experience of working on a real industry project.
  • Direct engagement with employers and industry professionals.
  • The opportunity to apply academic knowledge to practical business challenges.
  • Development of professional skills highly valued by graduate recruiters.
  • A meaningful work-based learning experience that can be included on a CV and LinkedIn profile, and discussed at interviews.

By combining direct employer engagement with flexible, technology-enabled delivery, Queen Mary Business School Micro-Internships gives students an accessible way to gain valuable workplace experience, apply their learning to real business challenges and build confidence for their future careers.
