The Capstone Project is a semester-long module available to students on our MSc Management and MSc Marketing programmes.
The project gives students the opportunity to work in teams on a live organisational challenge, applying the knowledge and skills developed throughout their degree to a real business issue. Working directly with an external organisation, students undertake research, analyse findings and develop evidence-based recommendations.
For organisations, the Capstone Project provides access to fresh perspectives and focused research and analysis from a diverse group of postgraduate students. Projects are tailored to the needs of each organisation and can focus on areas such as marketing, business strategy, customer engagement, innovation, sustainability, organisational development, market research and growth opportunities.
We work closely with organisations to scope a meaningful project that aligns with both organisational needs and student learning outcomes. Throughout the project, student teams are supported by academic staff and the Business Engagement & Experiential Learning Team. Organisations are involved at key points during the project, including an initial briefing meeting, a progress meeting and a final presentation of recommendations.
The Capstone Project creates meaningful experiential learning opportunities for students while delivering fresh perspectives and insight for organisations.
There is no cost to organisations taking part.
If you are interested in discussing a potential project or would like to explore whether your organisation could benefit from working with a student consultancy team, we would be delighted to hear from you.
